They fight the villain and save though who need it. Everything the Musketeers do is for good. In all, his books have everything! It’s action and adventure with some tied in humor keep the pages turning. He listens and is great at negotiating which comes in handy throughout the story. He is the leader of the Musketeers and becomes somewhat of a mentor to his Musketeers. However, my favorite above all is Treville. There is also Aramis who says he longs to be a priest but he loves being a Musketeer. Then, who can forget Porthos, whose love for life is well known? He is loud and obnoxious but will never leave his friends behind. Then you see the friends, Athos with the tortured past and a broken heart, yet wise beyond his years. For instance, d’ Artagnan is always anxious to prove himself. Of course, this story also discusses romance, ambition, pride, and revenge. It is something everyone can always relate to. I feel that this quote resonates throughout time. “All for one and one for all, united we stand divided we fall.” -Alexandre Dumas

The bond between the Musketeers and d”Artagnon is unshakable. In this story, the main theme would be friendship and loyalty. He is able to incorporate so many themes and discussions in his works.

He creates memorable stories and characters! In my opinion, he is one of the best historical fiction writers. Alexandre Dumas always paints a vivid picture of France. There are several reasons why I love this book. Athos, Aramis, and Porthos help d’Artagnan as he uncovers a plot by the evil Cardinal Richelieu. Thus begins an adventure with memorable characters such as Treville, Athos, Porthos, Aramis, Constance and Milady de Winter. A man named d’Artagnan wants to join the King’s Musketeers. The book whisks readers off to Paris during the reign of Louis XIII.

I have read this book several times and every time I pick it up it is like spending time with an old friend. I cannot put into words how much I enjoy The Three Musketeers by Alexandre Dumas.
